Wellbeing walks are regular walks which are free and open to all – though aimed particularly at people who are presently doing little or no exercise – and usually last for about an hour. People are encouraged to walk at their own pace, safe in the knowledge that they are walking with trained leaders, one of whom will remain at the back of the group, with the slowest walkers. At the end of the walk we encourage walkers to socialise – therefore many of our walks end where people can have a drink and a chat. The main group meets at various venues in and around Bedford with a brisk walk of up to 3 miles, lasting up to one hour, a medium walk lasting somewhat less, and a gentle walk which is tailored to needs on the day. Social and Wellbeing Group meetings will commence in October 2024 and are designed to cater for those with limited walking ability. Car parking and refreshments are readily available at meeting points, such as at country parks. Assistance dogs only are welcomed. Various start points – phone for details. Leaders: Peter on 07941 376888 and Rita on 07720 058130
